Older homes and units
Many older St George bungalows still have a single batten light in the middle of each room. Adding downlights or pendants usually means new switching and cabling through the roof space, which is generally accessible in these homes.
In concrete-ceiling apartments in Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale, recessed lights usually aren't possible, so we'll suggest surface-mounted LEDs or track lighting.
Outdoor and security lighting
Driveway and side-passage sensor lights are a popular request in Beverly Hills, Penshurst, Bexley and Carlton. Near the water in Sans Souci, Kyle Bay and Blakehurst, outdoor fittings need to be corrosion resistant.
Lighting Installation FAQs
Can you add downlights to my bungalow?
Usually, yes. Most older St George houses have workable roof access. We'll design a layout that lights the room evenly.
Can I get downlights in my concrete-ceiling unit?
Usually not recessed ones, but surface-mounted LEDs give a similar look.
Do sensor lights use much power?
Very little with LED fittings, as they're only on when triggered.
