- Flickering or dimming lights
- Dead power points or a whole circuit out
- Air conditioner tripping the power
- Appliance faults taking out the house
How we test
We isolate each circuit, insulation-test the wiring and check the appliances on it one by one. It's methodical and it works, and it means you pay for a repair that actually fixes the problem.
In St George, we often find failing hot water elements, deteriorated wiring in older bungalows, water getting into outdoor fittings and DIY wiring from past renovations. In apartments, we'll tell you if the fault is on common property, so you can take it to the strata manager.
Repairs
We'll explain what we found and give you a price to fix it. Most repairs are done during the same visit.
Fault Finding and Repairs FAQs
Why does my hot water keep tripping the safety switch?
Usually a failed element or water getting into the element housing. We'll test it and tell you whether to repair or replace it.
Is it safe to keep resetting the safety switch?
No. Leave it off and call us. It's tripping for a reason.
Can old wiring cause flickering?
Yes. Loose or worn connections are common in older homes and can overheat, so get them checked.
